Custom Homes, Built by Hand(s)

J.T.Tull Custom Homes’ owner,

Trey Tull started building things early, to which his mom can testify, based on the leftover projects and contraptions her garage.  He loves houses – everything about them! After operating a custom furniture business while in graduate school, he started in home construction when he designed and built his first house for his own family in 2015.  While leading commercial construction projects for the HE Butt Foundation in Kerrville (where he worked for 16 years), word got around, and custom home seekers kept finding Trey to build their dream. He’s been building custom homes since 2018.

With an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M, and a master’s degree in Leadership, he was prepared for the technical and management challenges of building homes. Additionally, years of experience leading both commercial and residential projects and design have positioned him for success in building custom homes.

Trey is married to Leah and they have 4 children: Elli, Claire, Luke and William. He enjoys all outdoor activities with his family, but especially hiking, hunting and watching wildlife.  He also enjoys working with leather, building furniture, riding motorcycles and finding the elusive perfect piece of tile.

Our Philosophy…

A Home Creates a Story

Homes can be very formative in the lives of those who live in them. Houses are not simply containers for humans, but the pages where stories are written for a lifetime, each chapter adding to a legacy created by the people who live there.  They serve as both shelter – a place of refuge - and a launching point, as well. They can be a hub connecting people together…

Still Best When Made by Hands

Homes are one of the last truly hand-made things we have, and this is what gives them their deep sense of character and individuality. Custom means the human touch throughout.

A Joining of Art and Science

Building homes is both an art and a science. It takes a thoughtful approach that integrates both the art of design and aesthetic with scientific accuracy to make for a better result.

Each Home Should Be as Unique as The Owners

A home should be form-fitted to the individuality of the client – like a pair of jeans that fits just right.
